Peter Dushenski, Managing Director of GlasCurtain, joined Fenestration Canada’s Commercial Chapter to present Northern Resilience: Next-Generation Façades at Red Deer Justice Centre.

The presentation took a closer look at the façade strategy behind one of Alberta’s most significant recent civic projects, exploring how high-performance curtain wall design can respond to demanding northern conditions while supporting architectural intent, durability, and long-term building performance.

Using the Red Deer Justice Centre as a case study, Peter walked through the role of GlasCurtain’s Thermaframe 7 fibreglass curtain wall system, including the technical considerations that shaped the envelope, the project’s performance requirements, and the collaboration required to deliver more than 22,000 ft² of curtain wall across the eight-storey facility.

The session also looked beyond thermal performance alone, considering how material selection, condensation resistance, durability, and maintainability contribute to a façade that is expected to perform reliably over the life of a major public building.

Thank you to Fenestration Canada and its Commercial Chapter for the opportunity to share the project, and to everyone who joined the presentation and discussion.

We invite you to watch the full presentation to learn how your next project can benefit from our high-performance façades!
