Thermaframe 4 Earns Honourable Mention in Architect’s Newspaper Best of Products Awards 2025
October 10, 2025
We’re proud to share that our new double-glazed Thermaframe 4 has received an Honourable Mention in Architect’s Newspaper’s Best of Products Awards 2025!
Recognized in the Building Materials + Facades – Composites category, this acknowledgement places Thermaframe 4 (T4) among an exclusive group of building products shaping the future of sustainable design and construction. Since 2015, The Architect’s Newspaper has honoured the industry’s most forward-thinking materials and systems, those demonstrating outstanding performance, design integrity, and meaningful contributions to the built environment. To be recognized in this program affirms GlasCurtain’s continued commitment to helping architects and builders reduce embodied carbon while improving building envelope resilience and occupant comfort.
A Low-Carbon Curtain Wall for Cool-Temperate Climates
Thermaframe 4 is the lowest carbon curtain wall system in the world, leveraging ultra-high-performance fibreglass framing to deliver R-4 overall thermal performance with double glazing. Compared to triple-glazed aluminum systems, Thermaframe 4 achieves its performance targets with one fewer pane of glass – cutting embodied carbon by 50% while maintaining the durability, condensation resistance, and energy efficiency that designers expect from the best high-performance façades.
Purpose-built for cool-temperate climates across North America, Thermaframe 4 offers a balanced solution for civic, institutional, and owner-occupied commercial buildings where comfort, performance, and carbon reduction must be critically balanced.
Manufactured in Canada
Thermaframe 4 is manufactured entirely in Canada and protected under CUSMA (tariff-free), ensuring that every system benefits from a fully domestic supply chain. This approach supports dependable delivery, predictable costs, and consistent quality for projects across North America, while reducing exposure to global shipping challenges and material volatility.
Because all production, from fibreglass pultrusion to fabrication, takes place within Canada, design teams and clients can count on local support and shorter lead times. The result is a supply chain that is not only reliable but also transparent and responsive to project needs.
By combining locally manufactured fibreglass framing with simplified double glazing, Thermaframe 4 helps project teams meet Net-Zero, Zero Carbon, or LEED certification goals while maintaining long-term reliability and confidence in domestic manufacturing partnerships.
Recognizing Practical Innovation
GlasCurtain’s recognition in this year’s awards reflects the growing importance of material efficiency in façade design, achieving high performance not through added layers or complexity, but through smarter, lower-carbon system design.
This Honourable Mention will also appear in Best of 2025, The Architect’s Newspaper’s annual print issue distributed at architecture and design conferences throughout 2026.
