GlasCurtain Wins Canada Innovation Award
February 21, 2014
This year, for the first time ever, Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada has joined forces with the Canada Green Building Council, the Building Research Establishment, and the Modern Built Environment Knowledge Transfer Network to find innovative products and services from Canada to meet current and emerging needs in the UK construction sector.
To help kick things off, the group launched the Canada Innovation Competition, which awards one particularly innovative Canadian company with flights and accommodations to Ecobuild 2014 in London UK, the world’s leading event for sustainable design, construction, energy and the built environment. At the show, the winner will present their product at the Canada Innovation Showcase in the Canada Pavilion. Taking place from March 4-6 this year, Ecobuild is one of the biggest events of its kind anywhere in the world. Last year, Ecobuild 2013 drew 43,000 attendees!
Needless to say, we submitted our proposal and were pleasantly surprised when we found out we were shortlisted in the top five. So you can imagine our excitement when we discovered that we’d won!
Now, Peter Dushenski, our Marketing Director, is off to London UK to share Canada’s innovative spirit with the world.
“It’s an incredible honour and a fantastic opportunity. I’m really looking forward to building new relationships in the UK and to sharing GlasCurtain with the world,” Dushenski said.
Since winning the Canada Innovation Competition, Mr. Dushenski has also been asked to speak at the 4th EU-Canada Green Building Forum at the Van der Valk Hotel Brussels Airport in Brussels, Belgium on February 28, 2014. He will be presenting alongside several notable industry leaders, including Canada Green Building Council President Thomas Mueller and recognized green buildings leader (and GlasCurtain consultant) Manasc Isaac Architects Senior Principal Vivian Manasc.
The world is ready for innovation. The world is ready for GlasCurtain!
