Alexander First Nation Kipohtakaw Education Center

The Kipohtakaw Education Centre on the Alexander First Nation Reserve, located approximately 40 kilometers northwest of Edmonton, has been thoughtfully upgraded to better serve students and the surrounding community. Originally built in 1992, the school now stands as a revitalized space for education and connection, supported by Indigenous Services Canada.

Reimagine Architects collaborated with us to incorporate our Thermaframe 7 system into the design, enhancing both the building’s sustainability and functionality. Guided by insights from local community workshops, the design team reoriented the school along an east-west axis to optimize solar gain and create a stronger connection to the natural environment.

The result is a welcoming, energy-efficient learning environment that reflects the community’s values and aspirations —fostering growth, inspiration, and a sense of pride for all who use it.
