Alexander First Nation Kipohtakaw Education Center

Located on the Alexander First Nation Reserve, approximately forty kilometres northwest of Edmonton, the Kipohtakaw Education Center is undergoing essential upgrades to create an ideal learning environment for its current and future student population and the surrounding community. With support from Indigenous Services Canada, this project will enhance the original school, which was constructed in 1992.

Designed by Reimagine Architects and featuring our Thermaframe 7 system, the project incorporates local site and cultural insights gathered from community engagement workshops. The design aligns the school from east to west, optimizing solar gain, transparency, and a sense of openness that integrates with the natural surroundings. This approach ensures a sustainable, comfortable, and inspiring environment for all users.
