Project
Net-Zero RCMP Detachment
The new RCMP Detachment will replace a 35-year old RCMP Detachment building located in Fort St. John, British Columbia. Aiming for Net-Zero Energy (NZE) status, the building is one of the first institutional buildings in BC to pursue this ambitious target. It plans to reach this objective through the use of cutting-edge construction materials, such as GlasCurtain’s Thermaframe 7 curtain wall system, which minimizes the need for active temperature control. The building was designed by KMBR Architects and is scheduled to open late 2023.
The new RCMP Detachment in Fort St. John, British Columbia, has officially replaced the previous 35-year-old facility, standing as one of the first institutional buildings in BC to achieve Net-Zero Energy (NZE) status. Designed by KMBR Architects, this cutting-edge structure reaches its ambitious sustainability goals by incorporating advanced materials like GlasCurtain’s Thermaframe 7 curtain wall system, which significantly reduces the need for active temperature control and enhances energy efficiency. Completed in late 2023, the project showcases how innovative design and sustainable building practices can come together to create an environmentally responsible and operationally efficient facility.
